No sound from TV or soundbar
Picture works but no sound, or it comes from the wrong speakers.
- 1
Check mute and volume
Press Mute once and turn the volume up on the remote. If you have a soundbar remote, try that too.
- 2
Check the TV's sound output
On the TV, open Settings > Sound > Sound Output (names vary). Choose your soundbar (often 'HDMI ARC' or 'eARC') or 'TV Speakers' if you don't have one.
- 3
Restart the soundbar and TV
Unplug the soundbar and TV from power for 60 seconds. Plug in the TV first, then the soundbar.
- 4
Try another app or input
If only one app has no sound, close and reopen that app or restart the streaming device.
When to call a technician
Call us if there's still no sound, if surround speakers or a subwoofer stopped, or if you have a full home theater system.
Did this fix it?
Common questions
What is HDMI ARC?+
It's a special HDMI port that sends sound from the TV to your soundbar. The soundbar must be plugged into the port labeled ARC or eARC.
Why is my sound out of sync?+
Restart everything first. Some TVs and soundbars have an 'audio delay' or 'lip sync' setting.
We install and troubleshoot soundbars and home theaters across Naples, Port Royal and Fort Myers. Our service areas.
