Security Cameras
Security camera offline or no video
Camera says offline, live view won't load, or recordings stopped.
- 1
Check whether it's one camera or all
Open the camera app. If ALL cameras are offline, the internet or recorder is likely down. Check the 'Internet not working' guide first. If only ONE is offline, continue.
- 2
Check the camera's power
Battery cameras: check the battery level in the app or charge the battery. Plug-in cameras: make sure the adapter is plugged in and the outlet works. Wired cameras usually get power from a network box (PoE switch or recorder). Check that box has lights.
- 3
Restart the camera
Battery cameras: remove and reinsert the battery. Plug-in cameras: unplug for 30 seconds. Don't climb ladders or open sealed outdoor housings. Leave that to a technician.
- 4
Check Wi-Fi signal
Many apps show signal strength for each camera. Weak signal is common on outdoor cameras far from the router. Restarting the router can help temporarily.
- 5
Restart the recorder or base station
If you have a recorder (NVR, UniFi Cloud Key, Blink Sync Module or Arlo base station), restart it by unplugging for 60 seconds. Wait 5 minutes for cameras to reconnect.
When to call a technician
Call us if several cameras stay offline, a camera is mounted high or outdoors, the recorder won't start, or a business depends on the cameras. Use Urgent Tech Help for security-critical outages.

Common questions
Why does my camera go offline every night?+
Often weak Wi-Fi, a failing power adapter, or heat. A technician can test the power and signal.
Should I factory reset the camera?+
Not as a first step. A reset removes it from your account and may need setup on a ladder. Ask a technician.
Heat, humidity and storms in Naples, Marco Island and Cape Coral are tough on outdoor cameras. We install and maintain camera systems built for Florida conditions. Our service areas.
